The Ariake Group provides high-quality and homogeneous products using a comprehensive production system from raw material procurement up to the final products, and also has strict controls in place with respect to safety and hygiene.

Further, to ensure a stable supply of secure and safe organically grown vegetables, the Ariake Group established ARIAKEFARM Co., Ltd. to grow organic vegetables. In 2008, ARIAKEFARM purchased an expansive piece of farmland about 13 times the size of Tokyo Dome on reclaimed land in Isahaya Bay in Nagasaki, to grow organic vegetables without the use of agrochemicals or chemical fertilizers.

This helps us to achieve even safer food through entirely domestically-grown vegetables that also offer complete traceability in addition to the hitherto achieved safety.

GAP Certification

ARIAKEFARM Co., Ltd. acquired another third-party certification for agricultural production process management on its approximately 60-hectar large reclaimed farmland at Isahaya Bay in Nagasaki. On this land, ARIAKEFARM is growing organic agricultural products (JAS-certified in February 2009).

ARIAKEFARM, an affiliate company of the Ariake Group which grows organic agricultural products (JAS-certified in February 2009) on approximately 60-hectar large reclaimed farmland at Isahaya Bay in Nagasaki, acquired GLOBAL GAP (EUREP GAP) certification in December 2009 (roughly at the same time with the acquisition of JGAP certification in Japan). GAP is an abbreviation of "Good Agricultural Practice" and a method for the management of the agricultural production process. The farm management method GLOBAL GAP is being used widely all over the world. ARIAKEFARM was one of the first among Japanese farmers to introduce the method.

The certification indicates that organic agricultural products grown by ARIAKEFARM offer reliable safety according to international standards. At the same time, it means that a third party has acknowledged the fact that a sustainable farm management by the appropriate application of environment-preserving farming is in place. The organic agricultural products grown at ARIAKEFARM are used as the raw vegetables for the natural seasonings made by Ariake Japan, resulting in trusted products of high quality and safety. We are convinced that this largely contributes to the feeling of safety that we deliver to our customers.
